I’m so excited.
My friend Cynthia Barnett has been helping organize and spread the word about my Gainesville, FL, launch party and book signing for MELTED AWAY, on April 17, 7 p.m., at the Matheson History Museum. You can attend in person or virtually, for free, but we do ask that you register (so we know how much food and wine to bring!).
Here’s the email that Cynthia just sent to our friends list. But since you are visiting my site, you’re now a friend, too. 🙂
“I read Gainesville writer Barbara Drake-Vera’s forthcoming MELTED AWAY: A MEMOIR OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND CAREGIVING IN PERU last year to consider an endorsement. I was gobsmacked by Barbara’s fine writing and stirring story about covering a vanishing glacier while caring for her (unlovable) father in Peru, and all she learned–all we have to learn–about mutual aid in our warming world.
“I was so happy to endorse the book, and I’m thrilled to host and invite you to Barbara’s Gainesville book launch party at 7 p.m. Wednesday April 17th at the Matheson History Museum downtown. Please join us for a book talk, author Q&A, refreshments and book sale and signing. Free and open to all so long as you register at the link below. Please share this invitation with book-loving friends–there is a Zoom option so share it far and wide. Thanks and hope to see you on April 17th! Cynthia.
