I am somewhat overwhelmed to announce that I will be the June writer in residence at the Key West Literary Seminar.
The photo above is of Elizabeth Bishop’s house in Key West, and although I won’t be staying there, the image feels appropriate for all it conjures of Key West and its luminous literary heritage. Elizabeth Bishop. Ernest Hemingway. Tennessee Williams. Robert Frost. James Merrill. More recently: Alison Lurie. Judy Blume. Philip Caputo. Barbara Ehrenreich.
I will be housed in a lovely apartment.
I will have a whole month to write, dream and research scenes for a forthcoming novel.
I can’t tell you how deliriously happy all this makes me.
